Scientific Advisory Committee meeting under chairmanship of Dr. N.K. Seth, Principal Scientist, DES, JNKVV, Jabalpur held at KVK, Chhatarpur on 16.07.13. There were representations of all the line department viz. Agriculture, Fisheries, Veterinary etc. Centre was visited by the Chairman. He took special notice of rural youth training of farm women on preparation of different types of candle and suggested to send specimen to ATIC, Jabalpur for recognition of work. He was also impressed with the skill gained by the rural trainees of stitching while interacting with them during their training hour. Being keen observer he took close supervision of KVK campus and remarked for upgrading of nutritional/ medicinal garden. Dr. Seth also made power presentation to the committee to show the performance of BBF and Ridge &furrow method of Soybean sowing. He also suggested for experimenting the method of transplanting for pigeon pea crop. He suggested to make ready alternate plan for extreme weather condition. SAC recommendations are given below.

Proceeding of Scientific Advisory Committee held at KVK, Chhatarpur on 19th Dec. 2013 Scientific Advisory Committee meeting under chairmanship of Dr. D. P. Sharma, Joint Director and Principal Scientist, DES, JNKVV, Jabalpur held at KVK, Chhatarpur on 19/12/13. There were representations of all the line department viz. Agriculture, Fisheries, Veterinary, Horticulture, Agril. Engg. ,Women and child development, NGO, Nationalized Bank, RR Bank  and Progressive Farmers etc. The chairman visited KVK Farm and appreciated the efforts of KVK Staff in maintaining KVK farm. He gave suggestion for trimming & pruning of meadow orchard of guava and improve vegetable unit, top working of Ber plants on the farm. He also visited one of the progressive farmers Salim Khan’s field at Nowgong and was very pleased to observe the integrated farming being done by Mr. Khan. He suggested the KVK Staff to involve more in his activities and also include other line department to improve his activities. There after the progress of KVK activities 2012-13 & 2013-14 (Kharif) and plan for 2013-14 (Rabi) was made in front of the entire committee members. The main recommendations/suggestions are as follows=

1. Any requirement of other subject expert should be integrated to  Directorate.
2. Focus plan on major field crop in OFT/FLD like paddy etc.
3. Involve Agril. Engg. department in farmer mechanization interventions.
4. Increase poultry & fishery activities.
5. Trichoderma Viridi should be procured from JNKVV and given along with pulse OFT/FLD compulsorily.
6. Soy milk should be included as nutritional supplement for malnourished children at Aaganwadi level.
